The Wedding of Elaine & Bryant

A lively, rustic chic celebration that was well worth the wait.

We have all been affected by the pandemic, and as a wedding photographer in Youngstown, I have seen just how crushing its effects have been on engaged couples. It has cancelled, delayed and ruined so many big plans over the last 18 months. And so, when I get to be a part of a wedding that is long overdue, it’s always an especially sentimental experience for me. This was the case for my recent couple, Elaine and Bryant, who were due to tie the knot back in October 2020. For obvious reasons, they had to delay their big day, and wait for the right time to bring their family and friends together again. Thankfully, on the 15th of May 2021 they were finally able to say ‘I do’ surrounded by their loved ones, and celebrate in just the way they’d imagined.

They Say You Should Never Fall For Your Co-Workers, This Couple Proved Everyone Wrong

Elaine and Bryant are both accountants, and they actually met, and fell in love while working together. They both love their jobs, but when their not crunching the numbers, their crunching their abs, as the two of them are keen gym goers. As a couple, they were a delight to deal with from start to finish, and it was an honor to be a part of their wedding preparations. As a Youngstown photographer, it’s always a privilege to be included in someone’s wedding, and to witness their joy. But it’s even more meaningful when the couple is as kind, and warm as Elaine and Bryant were.

A Bright, Sunny & Classic Church Wedding

The weather was perfect for this couples’ big day, with clear blue skies from the early morn. The sun beamed down through the stained-glass of the Holy Family Church in Poland, Ohio, and lit our groom gracefully as he waited for his bride. As she made her way down the aisle, we could all see the love that swelled in Bryant’s heart for her, especially when tears began to stream down his cheeks. They wed in a traditional style, with a very family orientated theme, always involving their loved ones as much possible. As a wedding photographer, it’s important for me to capture my Youngstown couples in these moments, but also respect their space, and let things flow naturally. And so, I kept my distance, and took my shots carefully.

This Couple Accounted For Everything, and Wanted Nothing Missed

Following the very sweet ceremony, now man and wife, Elaine & Bryant, were ready to celebrate! But not before we ticked off the carefully prepared shots we had worked out together. Being accountants, they were very detail orientated, and knew just what kind of images they wanted from their big day. For me, as a wedding photographer, this is perfect, as normally, I need to tease this information out of my Youngstown couples! We shot family formals outside the church, and managed to capture some really fun pictures of everyone together! The groomsmen in particular were so mischievous when they were allowed to be, but also knew how to turn it on when it was time to be serious, and suave.

A Fun, Lively Celebration Packed Full of Personality

Once the all important group shots were completed, the wedding party made their way to their reception venue,  Drakes Landing, in Canfield, Ohio. The whole celebration space was decorated so chicly, with elegant touches all around, and some really sumptuous centerpiece decor. You could tell that Elaine and Bryant had really put a lot of care into the overall look of their reception, and, also had a sweet tooth! With a statement donut wall, next to piles of more donuts, plus lots of delicious looking cakes and cookies. And they also showed their fun side, with both a Jenga guest book and a Harry Potter guest book available for their loved ones to share a thought in/on. A lovely touch, I thought, and a unique way to create more memories of your big day.

This was a super fun wedding to be a part of, and it was wonderful to see these two finally tie the knot. As a wedding photographer, sometimes it’s nice to check in on my Youngstown couples after the big day, just to see how their doing. And when I contacted Elaine she was stilling buzzing over her wedding pics, and sent me this lovely message which I had to share;

I just to tell you how in love I am with all the pictures. I mean seriously, I teared up looking at them and reliving the moments that went by too quick or that I didn’t get to actually witness! They are amazing. You guys did an incredible job, and I am so happy and thankful to have these beautiful pictures forever”. Elaine
